Defending Human Life
Buellton, Ca - January 3, 2025-- (Buellton, CA) Albert Covarrubias, Jr was fighting for his Constitutional rights and was killed in the line of duty by his own police force. There is no divine right to kill for simply standing up for his rights. Every person has the right to stand for what they believe, rather than be gunned down. You cannot take away human life as being ok with simply saying it was a mistake.

If someone commits forced sex, it does not mean they should be put to death. Albert obviously did not believe he forced sex on anyone as he said he was framed or setup, which is why he stood up and defended himself.
I am his cousin. I interned for a presidential election in 2008, which fueled my internal voice for change. I wanted to help the country. It gives no departmental agency the right to victimize me for standing up for my cousin's death, or more clearly for one of the Ten Commandments--Thou Shall Not Kill. Albert did not kill anyone, I have not killed anyone, so why should I suffer?
There is a problem with our culture in handling active shooters as we seek to eliminate the threat. I see the threat as those who kill. I see no solution in killing others. If you want to solve this problem then arrest the killer, so you can find answers. Do not victimize the messenger or problem solver. If the killer is shooting, then hit him in the leg or shoulder, so you can arrest him. We gain greater research data when the killer is alive, rather than ask ourselves questions after the killing. Stop the killing.
